ATTENTION:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vision Care Ophthalmology is following recommendations of the CDC, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Optometric Association, and Indiana state government officials. We fully support Governor Holcomb’s shelter in place order in an effort to “flatten the curve”, while still providing essential services to the community. To that end, our office remains open; however, we are currently not providing routine eye care.

Out of concern for our patients and our community, and to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented the following plan:- Medical eye care services will continue, however, are limited to urgent/emergent care and prescription refill. This includes symptoms of sudden vision loss, new onset flashes and/or floaters, eye pain and/or redness, eye injury, double vision, or new symptoms following recent eye surgery. - Optical services, including dispensing of new eyewear and repair of broken eyewear, is available on a limited basis. - Contact lens services are limited to replacement and supply, as well as evaluation of contact lens-related complications including eye pain, red-eye, and or changes in vision. - Virtual/Telemedicine at-home office visits are available through FaceTime or Zoom meetings.

For those of you requiring in-person care, we have implemented additional infection control processes throughout our office, including stringent cleaning and disinfection processes and enhanced social distancing by limiting the number of patients and staff in the office at any given time. Additionally, our staff will continue to wear masks and other protective medical equipment as indicated.

Per the April 3rd recommendation of the CDC, we encourage all patients to wear homemade cloth masks or face coverings.

Current office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. For the safety of all patients and staff, you must call ahead to schedule. In most cases, an appointment will be available the same day.

We will continue to be here for our patients and community and will continue to explore options for providing care in non-traditional ways. Your health and that of our staff and doctors continue to be our number one priority.

We hope that you are caring for yourself and your family during this time and are doing your part to “flatten the curve”. We are #inthistogether.

Sincerely,

Vision Care Ophthalmology
